Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My now ex-boyfriend was charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment. I was told he qualifies under the Prison Releasee Reoffender Act as he was released from prison less than a year ago on a concealed weapons charge. Is this true? If I do not cooperate with the State Attorney, will he still be charged under this law?

Yes he would qualify. As far as your cooperation you would be well served to get yourself an attorney, as you don't want to be accused of obstruction either. It is solely up to the State attorney to decide whether or not to charge him.
