does my exhusband have grounds to take my children away from me for living with a man who was convicted of rape 13 years ago?

Potentially, if the man is not allowed to be around children. Even if that is not the case, your ex could make a case that they are in danger. If he is trying, you should talk to a child custody attorney to help out.
