Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
What can I expect, my son and his friend both both 17 were caught shoplifting and then returning for store credit in Walmart Fl. Walmart lawyer representative will be sending us the restitution costs.. and the case has been sent to Fl State.

If your son has no prior record, he is probably eligible for the pre-trial diversion program. He will report to the pre-trial diversion officer for approximately 6 months. He may be required to attend an anti-theft school. After successful completion of the program, the charge against him will be dismissed and he will be eligible to have his record expunged.
I would add one important thing that people often misunderstand. If you decide to pay the $200 that Walmart will request that has NOTHING to do with the criminal case. The state can decide to prosecute and often will. However, if eligible, diversion is a good alternative. Since there are many options, you should discuss this with an attorney.
