Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Expediting to another county

My brother had a warrant out for his arrest for not paying the last 2 months of his probation (Lost his job). He was arrested in another county and has to be expedited to a different one. I talked to a sheriff at his county jail and he explained that the other county is not reliable on picking up people without felonies. So I have been told if he is released after 7 days that the charges are dropped, is this true?

Also, if he happens to get expedited, is it more likely they will want him to serve jailtime for the remaining 2 months he didn't pay? Or will they want him to serve the original 6 months?

He has nothing else on his record, no charges during probation either. Please help! He's in FL and we're in MI so we can't talk to him and we're worried!

Re: Expediting to another county

If the county where he has the warrant does not agree to pick him up within the 7 days (or whatever time the jail ends up keeping him) he would be released.

However, the warrant for the violation will not go away. He will keep getting arrested until the actual warrant is either served upon him (in the proper county) or it is withdrawn.

He will have to take care of this one way or another either by being transported there or voluntarily going there after he is released.

If you are able to hire an attorney, then you may be able to get an in court surrender in the other county (as opposed to having him turn himself into the other jail)

What two counties are we talking about?
