Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Exposing buttocks to teenager
My 15 year old daughter was at a football party, adults were
supervising, when a boy nearly 18 began to verbally harrass her this went on for about 2 hours, she called me crying and very upset when i picked her up she told me that this boy pulled his pants down and exposed his buttocks to her. the police were called by my fanily and his, I have since been told by the Sheriff who took the report that is is not indecent exposure to show your buttocks to anyone. my question is can this boy harrass and expose himself to my daughter without any repercussion?

Re: Exposing buttocks to teenager
Criminal charges are not yours to charge. Many people think that they can but first the police must take a report (which you can request to write and file), then it must be forwarded to the State Attorneys Office, then the SAO must review and make a charging decision. They have a lot bigger fish to fry than a person exposing his buttocks but they might, who knows.
You can always try and sue him in civil court but I can't see an attorney running with it because of the lack of damages.
Back to your question - are there reprecusions? Probably not. Although we may like to think we can sue people over just about anything it really comes down to common sense. Common sense will tell us that there are some very disrespectful people in the world and the best thing we can do (most of the time) is just try and avoid them.
