Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Exposure citation

I was given a citation for section 800.03, exposure of a sexual organ. This is the first time i have ever been in trouble with the law. Should I retain an attorney or just go to the hearing and pay the fine?

Re: Exposure citation

No, you should retain an attorney. Especially since the crime is of a sensitive nature.

I have reviewed your question and would suggest you also retained an attorney. The recent shows on TV highlight these sex-related crimes. If you would like me to assist you in preparing a defense strategy as I have done before please e-mail me your phone number and the best time to contact you. If you need help for speaking you.

Re: Exposure citation

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further. Similar questions like this have been asked repeatedly.

Never just "pay the fine" on a criminal case. You will then have to respond positively to the question if you have been convicted of a crime and explain the nature of the offense many times over the rest of your life. You will probably lose employment opportunities and perhaps even some housing based on the reply.

I would strongly suggest that you retain a qualified criminal attorney to represent you in this matter. It is very possible that a skilled attorney can find various defenses after reviewing your matter. At the least, an attorney might be able to negotiate a better plea for you.
