Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

expuge of the record or seal the record

To make a long story short. I was arrested in 1999 for battery on a leo (for falling on a police officer) . i went out of state and had a an attorney represent me in court which got me a reduced plea of resisiting arrest without violence, 12 month probabtion and adjudication was withheld. I know that you can only expunge or seal a record by getting ''withhold of adjudication'' Is there any possible way l could still get my record expuge or sealed. It was a long time ago and l would rather keep that big mistake stay in the past . Any advice? Thank you

Re: expuge of the record or seal the record

Assuming that was your ONLY arrest, you would be eligible to have your arrest record from that incident sealed. Because the case proceeded to Court and was not Dismissed, No Filed or Nolle Prossed by the State, you are NOT eligible for an expungement. For more information on sealing and expungements, please visit my website at: www.slavinlawfirm.com

I have an entire page on just that topic. If you have any questions after that, feel free to call or email my law office and we can certainly help you out.

Re: expuge of the record or seal the record

From what you are stating you are not eligible for an expungement but you are eligible to have your record sealed.

Did this occur in Lee county?

If you would like to give me a ring we can chat further and I will take a look at the clerks records and make sure this is possible before we get started.

I see from your Zip that your are in Cape Coral, I have an office in Fort Myers and would be glad to help.
