Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Expungement

about 4 yrs ago I was arrested for lewed behavior in a park in palm beach county. I had to complete probation and community service. I've been trying to fing a job, but I feel that when a backgroung check is done, this pops up and that's why I am not getting hired. Someone told me about expungement. Would this type of misdemeanor be able to be expunged. When i was arrested the officer told me not to worry, that it was like getting a ticket. Is this true?
