I was a bad time for me and all I wanted was someone to talk to , anyways the point is im about to graduate and I was wondering if i could have my records expunged. My file says destroyed and nolle pros compi pti. Culd you please answer my question and if so, should i go to a lawyer or is this something I can fix myself. thank you.

Re: Expunging records
It likely will qualify as a expungable record. While you can elect to go it alone, I don't rec. it. It isn't that costly to hire a qualified criminal defense firm to represent you and it may, depending upon the jurisdiction, require a formal hearing before a judge. Please visit my website at www.slavinlawfirm.com for a complete discussion of what charges are eligible for sealing and/or expunging. You can certainly handle this yourself, but in my experience most people feel more comfortable with an experienced criminal defense attorney handling all of the paperwork. There are lots of things to order and motions to file with the court. Please feel free to contact my office with any questions you may have.
