Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
expungment
at age 17, my daughters boyfriend was arrested for stealing some cars with his friends. he was tried as an adult and served a year and a day. this happened in march 1998. he has since served in the army in Iraq with an honorable discharge and is currently in school with a goal of becoming an RN. this felony may hold him back from his goal. since he was charged as an adult, is it still possible to get his record expunged? He did have a misdemeanor charge of DUI since that time.

Re: expungment
No you can't seal or expunge a conviction. You can restore your civil rights which allows you to vote and carry a firearm. The nursing board will consider all the facts you presented. I think he will do fine. Let me know if you want a lawyer to do the civil rights.
