Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

extradition of 3rd degree felon

Currently my boyfriend is being help at York County Prison in York, PA on a charge from Florida. He was pulled over on last Saturday morning where the officer ran his name and found out that he had a warrant from the state of Florida so they had to take him in. He is being charged for F3 Burglary of an unoccupied structure and F3 grand theft (I believe this incident occurred in May or June of 2007). But he is currently in prison up here and they gave him three options: bail out and turn himself into florida (not really sure how much time he would have), resist extradition or be extradited. The state of Florida however has not given him any specific amount of time for when he would be extradited. My boyfriend also has a prior Felony (F3 receiving stolen property). My questions are: I am unaware of the point system and how many points each crime is worth and would like to know if you believer that these two crimes in addition to his prior are more than 44 points; also is the prison in York County allowed to hold him for this period of time because I thought the state of Florida had a certain time period to come and get him. Just yesterday he waived his rights to extradition cuz he wants to bail out and turn himself into the state

Re: extradition of 3rd degree felon

Sounds like he needs a lawyer for when he arrives in Florida. Extradition means they bring him to Florida by van. They do not generally allow him to bail out.
