Re: extradition
Unfortunately, if the warrant is open and you are stopped and IDed in FL, they will likely take you in on the warrant and hold you as a fugitive from justice until they get a decision from MA as to whether or not they want to come to get you. Even if MA says no, there is no guarantee that the whole thing wont reoccur. The best way to deal with this is to hire a MA attorney and clear the MA warrant. I have done this for many clients in the same situation that you are in. It is far better to clear the warrant on your terms than it is on the FL authorities terms. It is a misdemeanor and they may very well not extradite you. However, that does not mean that FL will not pick you up to find out as long as the warrant remains open. Call us if you wish to explore clearing the MA warrant.
Re: extradition
I would suggest you contact the probation dept in the state of county where the warrant is located. If you get stopped up here in MA they willarrest and hold you. The other state has I believe up to 90 days to come and get you unless you waive the rendition hearing.
