Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

False Imprisonment

Son (16) was @ community ctr. When son was getting into car to leave he saw security guard grab & push a young girl. My son said'' that's pretty scumbaggy.'' The guard ran over & dragged my son out of car ( on camera) and dragged him into ctr where he threw him onto the floor (off camera) and my son took out his cell & said '' i'm calling my mom'' the guard grabbed cell & smashed it then handcuffed son & the other guard tried pulling off the aggressive guard. a woman called 911. Deputy said they were charging him with false imprisonment but didn't arrest him. There were a lot of witnesses but they would only take a couple reports. They didn't take pics of the abrasions on his arm/ elbow. they also said to take up the broken cell with security company ( that's a laugh won't they stick up for there employee) Deputy said state attorney might take the case & could just charge him for battery. Should we hire a lawyer to pursue this or wait & see what the state attorney does? And what else should we do?
