Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
A felony warrant was issued to my friend in 1997. They were made aware when they tried to renew a passport. In contacting the probation department they found that the warrant should have been recalled when restitution was completed. How can they get rid of this and move on with their lives?

They can hire an attorney to get the warrant withdrawn. Further, they may be able to make sure there aren't other issues related to this or any other case.
A motion needs to be filed with the court to terminate probation. The in-court probation officer will sign the proper paperwork and the clerk will enter the termination. Additionally the judge will vacate the probation warrant and all the problems will be over. If your friend needs any help call my office 305.670.3119.
