Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My fiance was arrested Monday for Aggrevated Batt/use of deadly weapon, however, I am trying to find a way to prove this was self-defense. The man who was hurt followed him around for about thirty minutes prior to the incident and my fiance kept telling him to stop. This gentelman was in the military and brags about all his combat training and that he can kill someone instantly with no weapon however when he wasn't getting a rise out of my fiance he came at him with a huge glass bottle and threw it at my fiance's head. Luckily he missed him but still came at him and my fiance pulled out a box cutter and swung. He had hundreds of stitches however there was a camera in the apt complex that I want to make sure is used in court as well as the fact that he told several people in our apartments that he has all these guns and is "not right" because of war. My fiance was honestly scared and acted on impulse. Can someone please help me as far as what I can do. He does not deserve to have his life ruined because of this. Please please someone help me. Thank you

This case sounds like it has several potential issues ranging from self defense to other mitigating factors. I would recommend you contact a criminal defense lawyer at once! The sooner you get a competent criminal defense lawyer, the better chance you have in presenting all the facts to the prosecutors and the Court.
