Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my fiance' was charged with robbery w/firearm STATUE 812.13-2a. He didnt do this. This is a new scam that people are doing now in effort to conact family and demand moneys what can we do? there is a witness that saw everything and willing to testify. what the minimum mandatory sentence for this crime?
1 Answer from Attorneys
The minimum mandatory sentence for this crime is 10 years but could be facing up to life imprisonment. I understand that you feel that it is all a scam, but this is a serious charge and typically the state will not arrest a person for such a charge without having a witness that can prove identification by face, voice, or some other unique identifying characteristic. He should remain silent and retain counsel ASAP. If you would like to discuss this case any further, you may contact my offices at any time.
