Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My fiance is being charged with sheltering a minor. He saw this young girl sitting at a 7-11 late at night and asked f she needed a ride. she accepted. he took her 10 minutes up the road and dropped her off and that was that. he never contacted authorites though. this morning he turned down the plea of fines and 30 days in jail. what exactly is "sheltering" wouldn't that mean providing somewhere for her to stay? and where should he go from this point? thanks so much.

Sheltering can mean providing shelter of more than 24hrs, but it also means helping someone run away or obtain shelter when they are a minor. If your fiance had no knowledge or intent to shelter her and was simply being a Good Samaritan, this may be a case worth fighting.
You may want to speak to an attorney to discuss your case in more detail.
