Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
If you file a civil suit and then 9 months latter you file criminal charges how does this affect the settlement you recieved do you have to return the civil suit or what happens

The criminal charges can proceed regardless of the civil case. However you can not recover money twice so any criminal restitution will be offset by the civil settlement.
