Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Fine as an alternative to probation?

I have been charged with ''obtaining property by fraud'' and ''theft''.My attorney has worked out a deal with the state of FL where they propose 150 hours of community service and 1 year probation after payment of restitution.

I have no pervious criminal record.

The problem is that I do not live in the US, i don't have a green card, a place to stay or any source of income in the US and probation for me would be impossible as i would not be able to support myself for a year.WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE to have a fine (up to the legal maximum) as an ALTERNATIVE for the 1 year probation?Would the fact that i am not an american citizen be taken into consideration?Should I adress the ''department for investigation or recommendation'' for a report of my situation?

Thank you

Re: Fine as an alternative to probation?

No, generally we dont let people pay there way out of probation. Your atty needs to get you a better alternative. Do not discuss this case with anyone but your atty.
