Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
i forgot baby shoes on my cart that were too small for my daughter. i was stopped 50 yards outside the store and told i forgot something so i returned willingly ,thinking i forgot my wallet possibly, with my 9 month old daughter in the stroller , asking the whole time whats going on and bing told its not a problem just to follow them, and was locked in a room . startled i asked what was going on and they told me to move my bag and nxt to it was this pair of shoes. i apologized and told them how i was leaving in a hurry because it was her feeding time and i had to get to the bottle heaters near the food court so i forgot i guess. they told me they were charging me and i said no need because i would pay for them and leave them there because they didnt fit her anyway. still i am being charged. MY public defender wasnt at my arraignment and wont be in contact with me till a scheduled phone call two days before the trial and has yet to ask for the evidence. Then the store is sueing me in civil court for 200 dollars for a 9 dollar pair of shoes, which they listed as 15 dollars by the way. do you have any advice

Since you have an attorney, I can't tell you what you should do. You need to talk to your public defender. Although it is frustrating to have to wait so long, unless you choose to hire an attorney on your own, that is your only choice.
