Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I just found out my 16 yr. old daughter was punched in the face by her 19 yr. old step-sister while in her father's care about 2 months ago. Is it too late to file charges against the 19 yr. old?

The police will make a report but since two months have gone by the state may feel they have a hard time proving the case.

You can still contact the police but unless the 19 year old admits striking her, the prosecutor may elect not to file charges due to the length of time that has passed.
