Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
fraud case, my brother in law did not take a plea, as he did nothing wrong, he had a public defender who was out of his depth and lost the case, he got 5 years, he is 57 and in poor health, I need someone to look at his case and see what can be done to lighten his sentence or have him released to a work camp near me.

You need to talk to an appellate attorney or one that handles "post-conviction relief" to see if anything can be done for him at this point. Usually, once sentenced, it is difficult, but not impossible to "lighten" a person's sentence.
