You should not say anything to anyone. You WILL NOT be able to improve your situation by discussing the case with the investigator. You can only make it worse for yourself.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. If you're the defendant in a criminal case, you (or your lawyer, if you have one) are entitled to take the depositions of most of the witnesses against you. If you're involved in a civil case, you are entitled to take depositions of any of the witnesses.
