Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My friend hit a girl
A bunch of us were over at my friend's house and my friend (a guy) got drunk and got into it with another friend (a girl). She said some stuff and he told her to leave (it was his house) and she kept making excuses to stay and he ended up kicking her in the head then hit her with a shoe. She called the police and they came and questioned everybody and just filed a report. She told him she was going to file charges and I want to know what could happen to him if she did.
P.S. - He's 18 and she's 20. He said he might leave town if he thinks they're going to come after him. Would they try and track him down? The girl just has a black eye.

That could potentially be serious charges. If it is charged an aggravated battery he would score 21 months in prison at a minimum and 15 years maximum.

Was she taken to the hospital?
he would either be charged with a simple Misdemeanor battery of Felony if there is serious bodily injury.
Try to convince him to stay in town, it will be much easier to take care of this now rather than later.
If you are anywhere in South Florida give me a ring and we can discuss a defense for your friend.
