Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My friend is involved in a case where part of the evidence needed is to measure the light level in an aria so the readings taken can be cross reverenced with medical data to determine if an average individual with normal healthy eyes could see reasonably well under the conditions of light intensity in question. What kind of expert witness does he need? Can it be a photographer or does he need a trained photometry technician?

An expert is just that: an expert in the field. For example, you could call a garbage man to be expert on how garbage is picked up every day, so long as they have the experience. In your case, a photographer MIGHT work, but your friend would be best served by getting the best experience in the field that he can afford. It may be a photographer; it may be a photometry technician. Regardless, ask the attorney what is best for his case.
