Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

A friend of mine has violated his probation, charged with possession of controlled substance without a prescription. He wants to fix this however we're trying to find a way he can do so without possibly going to jail for it. However, any advise helps.

If there is a warrant for his arrest for the violation, then he is probably going to have to go to jail. Hiding from the warrant will lead to an additional violation for absconding. Many judges take absconding as a serious violation. An attorney can motion the court to set a bond on the violation, but most judges will not hear the motion until the warrant is executed. If your question is related to sentencing, then there is probably a reasonable chance of avoiding jail as a sentence, but that will depend on a number of factors including prior record.
