Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

A friend was on probation for disorderly conduct.He had to attend anger management classes and pay a fine.He was short on money and didnt complete his classes and fine in a timely manner..There is a warrant out for his arrest now.He has completed the necessary requirements at this time but6 months late.What are the next steps and what is the likelihood that he will serve jail time.

Well the first step is that he needs to do two things: hire an attorney and turn himself in. If he can't afford an attorney, then the judge will appoint a public defender after he's turned himself in. However, a private attorney might be able to do a motion so as to avoid the turn in. If he has completed everything then the judge can do anything from terminating probation to up to 60 days jail. The likelihood of the max penalty may be unlikely but that it is why it is best to go in there with representation.
