Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
FTA on VOP Sentencing
I had been placed on the sentencing path for VOP on DUI, and had been appearing in court approx every three weeks to show progress in completing probation conditions. I still had a few conditions to resolve, although all financial obligations had been met. Due to a difficult circumstance regarding my living situation, I was required to leave the state in order to continue having a place to live. I subsequently missed my court date, and now have a warrant. Is it possible to resolve this issue, perhaps by making a deal with the State Attorney, to pay an amount and have the remaining conditions transferred to the new state? Or will I be forced to return to Florida and go to jail? What are my available options that do not require returning to Florida...if any?

You must return.
Re: FTA on VOP Sentencing
The answer above is absolutely correct. Did you notify your PO that you were leaving? In even the best situation, you won't be able to avoid having to return to Florida. Plus, if you were to get picked up where you currently live, that could make your life even more complicated. (To put it mildly.)
Assuming you didn't notify your PO of your move, you're not necessarily going to be in the best bargaining situation. If you'd like to discuss your issue further, feel free to call me at 954.483.3102. If you already have an attorney, then you really need to talk to them to discuss things.
