Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I gave a mechanic that works from home $900.00 to put in a new engine to my 2003 pick up. The mechanic stayed with car approximatley 6 months with different excuses, until I finnaly called the cops and he was told if the car was not outside the following weekend he was going to be charged with Grand theft auto. Well the following weekend the truck was outside of the property and I had a tow truck tow it to my home. I want to file charges against him. Can I? He had disasembled the engine and the parts were returned in the back of the pick up truck.

You can sue him in civil court for the damage and breach of contract. Talk to a civil attorney, not a criminal one.
