Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Golf cart repairs
I was hit by a golf cart. The cart stopped on my foot so I grabbed the bumper to remove it from my foot. When I lifted the cart off my foot the front bumper was cracked. The guy is sending me letters saying he wants payment for cracking his bumper. Can he press CRIMINAL charges for his bumper repairs? I'm sure he can try civil court but can I be arrested for this? It happened nearly 4 months ago.

Re: Golf cart repairs
In order to be held criminally responsible for breaking the cart bumper, it must have been done intentionally. Now it appears that you intentionally lifted it but it sounds like your reasons for doing so were warranted, which may be a defense.
