Gt/ failure to return hired vehicle

I rented a car for friend and they did not return the car when it was suppose to be return. I have been arrested for this and now Im going to court for something I didnt have possesion of and they are try to charge me with Grand theft auto/ failure to return hired vehicle. I really need to get this dismissed or at least dropped because I can loose my job and my future job which I am in school for now and I only have 1month left. I really need help and some kind of advice

I am sorry about your situation. Grand theft auto, like any crime, has certain elements which must be proven in order to sustain a conviction. It does not sound like they will be able to prove the elements. However, you do need to defend against the charges. If you would like to discuss your case further, please contact my office.
