Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
What are the guidelines
I was arrested last night because as an officer was entering my house during a dispute i was having with my girlfriend. I shut the door behind myself to go in and get a telephone. He then proceeded to open the door back up and come in. I put my hands on his chest and told him i did not want him in my house. He then arrested me for battery on a police officer. Can you tell me if this is a felony and what kind of sentence it holds.
Thank-you

Re: What are the guidelines
Battery on officer is a second degree felony puishable by up to 15 years in prison. The minimum is about 21 months if you were convicted. Plus you have to consider any priors that would effect your score. A lawyer should be able to get a better deal than that. Pls feel free to call.
Re: What are the guidelines
As Ms. Masters says it's a second degree felony. You should consult with a lawyer. What county is this and when is your court date. I offer a free initial office consultation in person or by phone.
