Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

gun charge expungment

k the question i have is this, im having my gun charge from 11 years ago expunged currently--how long will it take to be completed so i can legally go and purchase a gun?,and also when it is expunged will i receive something to present to a gun store proving it? or will it just be off my record at that point?

and once it is expunged, since it was my only felony i have on my record-does that mean i will be allowed to vote once this is done also?

could i purchase a gun now if i prove to the store it is currently being expunged or do i have to wait till its final?

Re: gun charge expungment

You can posses a gun if you were not adjudicated guilty. If you lost you right to own a gun and vote then you were adjudicated and you cannot expunge your record. You can petition to get those rights back. Expungment takes about 9 months and it must be final to get a gun.
