Heggs Case
I would like an explaination of the Heggs vs. State of Fla. ruling please. I don't understand it all and/or how it relates to inmates recently sentenced. Thanks so much!!!!

Heggs determined that the 1995 guidelines were unconstitutional. If an inmate was sentenced under those guidelines (sentenced prior to October 1998) then he/she may be afforded some relief. However, not everyone sentenced under the 1995 guidelines will receive a better sentence from the Heggs decision.
