Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hello,
I was convicted in 1999 of "Crime Against Nature" with a felony in North Carolina at the age of 17 for having oral sex with a 13 year old female. NC lists my conviction as:
Sentencing Penalty Class Code: CLASS I
Probation/Parole/Post Release Status: INACTIVE
Punishment Type: INTERMEDIATE SS,
Commitment Type: PROBATION/PAROLE
I am currently not listed on NC's sex offender registry or the National sex offender registry, but I am listed on the North Carolina Department Of Correction Offender Public Information website. Also, I currently live in Georgia and am not required to register as a sex offender (I was never really explained why).
My question is... if I were to move to Florida or any other state would I have to register as a sex offender? If you are unsure, who do I contact to find out if I have to register?

You should contact the sheriff of the county where you plan to move to and ask if you have to register.
