Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hello,
I am a foreign resident in Melbourne, FL and was in a 2 day vacation in Miami, FL with a couple of friends. I was parked and sitting in the passenger seat and my other friend in the back seat and we were waiting for our other friends who were in a nearby shop and all of a sudden we get threatened with a weapon by two guys and dragged out of the car and they quickly drove off. We had many valuables in the car ( 3 cellphones, 1 wallet, 2 passports and couple of bags. credit cards were used later by the criminals). Today, we get a call from the police that they were caught and we will be later contacted to get the details. My question is, What are all the possible charges that i can place in a law suit against these two people.
1 Answer from Attorneys
They will be criminally prosecuted for their crimes, which may include carjacking, theft, robbery, battery, assault, or other possibilities that the prosecutor feels they can prove. You are also entitled to restitution. You can also, in addition, file a civil suit for theft and battery.
