Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have been helping my friend with his case since last March- He is handling his own case Pro Se. He sued the HOA President for repeated slander at open Board meetings, The HOA pays for a top lawyer who files long complicated Motions that we are at a loss how to keep up or how to answer. In addition, in retaliation, the defendant filed for a Protection Order and won immediately. He filed to reopen the case but it has been six months- now she filed for a permanent Protection Order and he doesn't even live in the community now! I was a former Board member- for 5 years- and have dealt with the same woman many times. She is always gossiping or lying about someone i the community. Statements about this conduct when presented as Court evidence,. Myself and the Management Company were supeoned as witnesses because we have both been present during numerous slander statements she made. My friend has to appear in Court for another Motion to dismiss- they are fighting hard to get rid of this lawsuit as Board elections are being held in November. He is up against big lawyers and will lose...(If private between us-I can give you the two case numbers ) the November 2nd Hearing- would you be wiling to meet with him and help him before that Court date? Could he include his legal fees in his Motions? If he wins, I think that would be covered by the HOA Insurance. Without legal help, he will lose for lack of knowledge.
