Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I am home on leave from Afghanistan, and my uncle passed away the day I got home. His oldest son lives in FL, and was on house arrest. He tried calling his probation officer for 3 days, left many messages, but no answer, and no response because it was labor day weekend. He finally got ahold of them right before his flight, and they told him he couldn't go and that he would need to speak with a judge, and that could take several days. The funeral was the next day, so he left anyways because he wasn't missing his dad's funeral. How can I help him??

He either has to convince the probation officer not to file a VOP or face the music. His excuse that he tried to contact the PO and that his dad died should be a sufficient defense to get re-instatement, but that will be up to the judge. All you can do is hire a good lawyer for him.

Good luck.
