Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

House Arrest VOP

Ihave been on house arrest for about three months, i only had two more weeks to go. My officer came by two days ago, about 8:00 PM she said, and knocked a couple of times. I was home, but I didn't hear her. She left me a message on my phone, but didn't get it until the next day. I called her back and said I was home when she came, that I never left. She said she did everything she could, but could not get hold of me. She didn't say she would violate me. I told her I was sleepting, that my uncle died, my girlfriend's father just died, and I had been very depressed. We have two cars, and my girlfriend took my car to go to the store. I was supposed to be off in two weeks. What will happen to me. I am facing two and half years. I know the jails are full, and I have my own business and a good family. I will lose everything. Please let me know what will happen

Re: House Arrest VOP

You need a good criminal lawyer, since you may well be looking at prison time. While I don't question your word, a defense like yours may be received as one of those "we've heard all this before" types of things. Having been through more of these hearings than I can count, I can tell you that community control officers are very practiced at saying, "I pounded so loudly on the door that no one could have possibly slept through it."
