Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Our house was searched with a warrant. The warrant only contained the name of one roommate, which was not myself. Yet when they executed the warrant they broke down the door to my locked room before I could deny them entry. Is this not an invasion of privacy, breaking the 4th amendment? They ended up finding illegal items in my room, can I be convicted?

It really depends what was said on the warrant. If the warrant signed by a judge authorizes the police to search the entire house, including all rooms, then it may not matter that your name wasn't on the actual warrant. It would be illegal if the warrant specifically did not authorize a search of your room and they searched it anyway. Do yourself a favor and hire a lawyer.
