Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My husband was detained at Customs as they say he has a warrent in Florida from 1988 for a probation violation when he was 20 years old. When we called they said they entered everything into a federal system 2 years ago and that it still stands. He says he served his probation under a house arrest, they say he absconded supervision. Since 1988 he now lives in Massachusetts and has been pulled over many times and this has never come up in 23 years. we even pulled a Cori check several months ago for professional licence purposes and this crime is not even listed. The probation office says he has to come to Florida from Mass and turn himself in. What other options are there. He is unemployed and can not afford an attorney.
1 Answer from Attorneys
Either this is a mistake that will be cleared up or your husband is just going to have to deal with this warrant. If he can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed.
