Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Is it illegal in Florida to represent yourself as a member of the Department of Corrections as a probation officer in order to get information for a background check on someone? The calls were made to jails and courthouses.

Yes it is illegal to present yourself as any official of law enforcement, including DOC and probation. You face up to 5 years in prison. You should seek counsel if you did this.
