illegal search?

when stopped by deputy he was told his tag did not come up correct in computor,also that he was

''paced''at 55 in a 45.the deputy went to car and wrote citation,came back tore up citation just as k9 deputy arrived.they said he appeared nervous and had drug paraphanalia in sight ( he is 18 and it was only cigars)so when they searched car they found small bag in back seat with a few grains of pot in it.when he was arrested the deputy told him ''we told you we'd get you''.he is charged with the pot and cigars.does this sound right?

It would sound like the search was improper. You say he was charged with the cigars. This sounds a bit odd, if the cigars were some type of contraband then there may have been some reason for the search.
