Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Someone I know is already incarcerated and when they went to one of their court dates it states CLARK--DFT NOT PRES, COURT ORDERS CAPIAS

5 CAISS - CAPIAS ISSUED. I was wondering what that mean't?

The clerk's entries can be very confusing and I'm unclear as to exactly what they mean, other than it appears that a capias was issued. A capias is a bench warrant, meaning that if he is ever stopped anywhere, then he can be arrested. You should talk to an attorney to see if the capias can be lifted.
