Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Incorrect name on warrant
An arrest warrant was issued for my son for VOP and his name was spelled incorrectly. His Probation Officer advised him that he is very lucky and that because it was issued incorrectly, it is basically dead at this point. Is this correct? I'm not sure that they would lie to him, but would like to know for sure. The warrant was actually issued 5 days after he was off of probation.

Re: Incorrect name on warrant
Hard to say, but it sounds fishy. If he does get picked up the warrant needs to have been signed by the judge prior to the last day he was on probation. If he gets picked up contact me and I will try to advise you further.
