Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Inflammatory letter to judge
I am charged with 3 counts of felony drug possession. I went to docket sounding this morning. When I went for my turn before the judge, he told me he had received a letter from my father. The judge said he could not read this letter in court today, but would wait for my sentencing. He also stated that he would send a copy to the State's attorney. My lawyer and I were floored. This letter is obviously not in my favor. My dad and I are not on good terms. Doesn't this letter give the judge a preconceived notion of my character? This doesn't seem right. What can I do about this?
