inmates in prison with new case
if a person is in prison but has been charged new case after already in prison and cannot afford attorney what can he do to petition to get back to the county to face charges does he still have a right to speedy trial or does he have to wait till prison term is over to face the new charges

Usually they are transported to the county and assigned a public defender and the case proceeds normally. If he isnt transported but he has been served with the arrest warrant, speedy does run. He files a notice of expiration and then a motion to dismiss.So yes he still has those rights.
