Jail Time
I had a baby by a 14 year old girl and i was 17 but her parents told the police they dnt want me put in jail do i have to serve time and how much

The amount of jail time is determined by the charge, the state attorney, or the judge.

Hello: I only have a moment to respond to your question. Once you find out the actual charge, you can look it up on-line (Florida Statutes). The charge will probably be a felony. The actual sentence may be negotiated with the Assistant State Attorney. What happens is you plead Not Guilty and pass the case for a pre-trial date. You can keep passing the case for a while. The State's offer for a sentence to plead to will be influenced by any prior record you may have and the victim's family's desires. You may get probation. What you have to try to avoid is being on the State's sex offenders list.
