Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was looking for a job and when doing the pre employment background check they do what is called a credit check but this also checks criminal history. I know they have a state, Drivers license, city and county check. When they do a county check it can go back up to 12 years they say. I did my crimes 20 years ago but it still shows up. Is there any statue that says they can only check by county up to so many years. I know the national one only goes up to 10 years. Is there a statue I can use to prevent them from going back so many years on the county one. I live in miami-dade county miami florida

There is no time period limitation for any state, county, or other background checks. Your only option, if it is possible for you, is to get the charge sealed or expunged. I have information on my website below to see if that is an option for you.
