Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

judge and conflict of interest

What constitutes a conflict of interest? My son's judge lost money to the lawyer I hired. She slammed him with the max. She slammed all this lawyer's cases with the max. Even the state attorney knew of the conflict and admitted it to my new lawyer. But this all does not change my son's sentence. What can I do? Who can I write? Call? I'll even go to Tallahassee if I knew who to see?

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

You should consult your new attorney whom you have chosen to hire to represent your son. The attorney should be able to provide you with direction. It would improper for another attorney to second guess the advice of your lawyer while you are represented.
